Kimi's Wedding

We got to go back to CA for a weekend for a close friends wedding. I was 9 weeks pregnant for the occasion and getting to see my friends for the first time since the big news! It was so much fun and she looked absolutely beautiful!

My Official First Dr.'s Appointment...8 wks

So I finally got to meet with Dr. Fara today. He was incredible! He was there to answer any and all questions that we had. He told us that he was a twin himself, and he planned on telling me stories of what he & his brother did growing up. He told me is main concern for today was to, "make sure that there were still 2 little monkey's playing in the zoo." That put a big smile on our faces. We took a look inside and this is what we saw!!!

Two little ones still in there and holding on strong. We got to see their heartbeats on the screen. They are our little miracles from God!!!

My First Ultrasound!!! ...almost 7 wks

So we went to Dell Webb this morning for our first ultrasound to make sure everything was going well so far. I was terrified that my little one would be gone already! :(

They did an external ultrasound and one of the first things out of the techs mouth was, "Do Twins run in your family?" I immediately looked at Kevin. We both had big eyes. The tech said he saw 2 sachs, but he has seen 2 sachs and only 1 baby before so it would be too early to tell anything yet.

Then they did the internal ultrasound to get a closer look. Right then and there, all of my hopes and dreams had come true! They found 2 babies and 2 heartbeats! We were both in shock! Never in a million years did we think this could happen to us! I always wanted twins, but never thought it was possible. There was a 10% chance on the clomid, but that was so slim!

So the Townsend Family is doubling in size with Twins on the way!!!

Was supposed to be my first Dr.'s appointment

So I had an appointment for the first time with my new doctor. I heard many great things about Dr. Fara and was really excited. Well, when I got to the doctor's office on time for my appointment they told me I was supposed to be there 45 mins ago. No one had ever told me that, but whatever. I'm just over 6 weeks pregnant with my first pregnancy, scared out of my mind, and they tell me I have to reschedule.

After much crying the office nurse and the triage nurse came to my rescue. So I didn't get to see the doctor, but instead the triage nurse went over all the paperwork and spoke with the doctor. He wanted to do some blood work to check my levels. And then they would check it again Friday to make sure they levels were increasing. So I did my blood work and was on my way.

I got a call a little later saying the doctor didn't want to do another blood test, this time he wanted me to have an ultrasound done at the hospital. Oh my gosh! I am so excited!

The Big Surprise

February 27, 2008 started like any other day. I went over to my friend Mandy's house to get my hair done. After talking with her I decided to come home and take a pregnancy test. I was 2 days late, and when using the clomid, I was never late. This was the first month that me being pregnant did not even cross my mind.

We were scheduled for an IUI on February 11th, but since I took the clomid a day late, my ovulation was pushed back another day later. Therefore the IUI would have to be on Tuesday, February 12th, the day Kevin leaves for CA.


So I had no idea! I took a pregnancy test expecting the usual and this time I got these results!!!

I called Kevin immediately, and he was in shock just like I was. He told me to take another test.

I called the doctor and they had me go in for bloodwork to confirm. That came back positive too! So after trying for 3 1/2 years I got my first positive!!!
